Ashleigh with her choir director, Cole Tyrrell. Mr. and Mrs. Tyrrell attended prom with the kids each year and danced to the song, thriller. They were an incredible example of marital love for my daughter and her friends. This is a picture of Ashleigh and Mr. T during Ashleigh’s junior year (last year).

My daughter, Ashleigh, is a senior. She is experiencing lots of ‘last times’ this month. Her choir director, Cole Tyrrell passed away on May 2, 2011. With much sadness her chorale sang for the last time tonight and dedicated their pieces in his memory. They received 3 standing, stomping ovations!

There are many superindentent openings in the area this year. This blog has an interesting perspective. What do you think? Do women have a chance of getting, let alone keeping the job?

I know for sure that change is going to happen and I am not always comfortable with change.
I know for sure that I love my family and there are A LOT of people in my extended family. I am glad for each and every one of my family members. It is messy sometimes because there are lots of members, and it is ok because we love each other. We are there for each other.
I know for sure that I love to work. The extended family does too even when family members don’t know they love to work or don’t want to acknowledge the love of work! We are workers!
I know for sure that I value ethical people and ethical behavior.
I know for sure that I value with-it-ness!
What do you know for sure?

I remember my mom giving me really good advice when I had my first newborn at home. I was so worried that I was doing everything wrong. Should I give him pacifer? Should I not? She adviced me that everything I do, I will eventually have to undo. Every decision is the best decision with the information you have that day. It applies to education too. We make the best decisions with the information that we know. We expect and trust that we are all making the right decisions. We are good people and have good intentions. We need to solve problems, not just pacify them temporily.
