“I write every day for two hours. But it’s what I do for the other twenty-two hours that allows me to write.”

  1. I love this quote. It makes me think about the students I have that struggle with story ideas during writer’s workshop. Yet these are the same kids whose parents tell me about all kinds of experiences that they have. The students’ idea notebooks are empty and they say they haven’t done anything. I think they might be so busy being scheduled that they don’t notice the interesting things in their own lives.
